Social

When you need a break from classes and studying, you can drop in at the Hillel to hang out in the lounge, shoot some pool, watch a game, or find friends in our library. Hillel hosts games and movie nights, a Hanukkah party, learning sessions, and outings to Red Sox and Patriots games, the Omni Theater, Duck Tours, and other events around Boston. We also gather with other Hillels in the region for several events during the year, including the city-wide Falafel Ball (the pre-Ball party for Northeastern students is an event not to be missed). The Hillel board goes on an annual leadership development retreat to increase their capacity for leading the organization and we are always looking for more ideas, input, and better ways to serve the University’s Jewish population.

Northeastern Hillel has a variety of social activities throughout the year. In the fall we start off with free BBQ's. Throughout the year we have bagel brunches every other Sunday. Students come by at 1pm and hang out while watching football or baseball with their friends. In our lounge we have a 52" TV which attracts many students for their favorite TV shows and sporting events. Students also hang out downstairs while playing pool or darts.

Other social events include ice skating, movie nights, theatre and concerts, and sporting events. One of the biggest social events of the year is the annual Falafel Ball in November. It is a regional event at a Boston club which attracts over 700 Jewish students from New England.

Every February Hillel hosts its Intercollegiate Minute Match which brings together Jewish students from around New England. It is a great way to meet your match!
