Jewish Studies Minor
The Jewish Studies Program provides undergraduates with the opportunity to explore the culture and religion of the Jewish people and investigate the impact of Jewish thought and belief on civilization. The interdisciplinary program offers courses in history, literature, music, political science, religion, and sociology. A cooperative arrangement with Hebrew College allows students to take specialize courses in Judaic subjects and apply the credits to the minor. Students may also take course in Israel at Hebrew University, Tel Aviv University, or Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Coursework includes “American Jewish History”, “Jewish Film”, and “Responses to the Holocaust”, and an additional senior-level course that requires a major research project. In all, the minor requires at least five courses at Northeastern or the affiliated institutions.
