Religious Life
Religious life on campus is not limited to Shabbat and Jewish holidays. Northeastern Hillel offers classes on a wide variety of classes from beginner’s Hebrew to weekly Saturday torah discussions. Classes and workshops are taught by Jewish faculty and staff, students and area Rabbis.
Northeastern Hillel observes most of the holidays at our Hillel building. We build our own sukkah in the back of the building during Sukkot and have Tu B'shevat seders along with Purim megillah reading and hamantashen making. During Passover Hillel has seders both nights and serves lunches and dinners throughout the week.
If you are interested in taking classes for academic credit you can take classes through Jewish Studies. You can take one class or minor in Jewish Studies. There are three levels of Hebrew classes taught by Hebrew College Faculty, Introduction to Jewish Religion and Culture, Jewish Film, American Jewish History and Music of the Jewish People.
